Wolseley 4-44

Price range: £55.00 through £75.00

The 1955 Wolseley 4/44 was designed to offer traditional British refinement and understated prestige in a compact family saloon. Built at BMC’s Cowley works in Oxford, it combined elegant Gerald Palmer styling with Wolseley’s distinctive illuminated radiator badge, polished wood interior trim and comfortable accommodation, appealing to professionals and motorists seeking something more distinguished than the ordinary family car.

Introduced in 1952, the 4/44 reflected an era when craftsmanship and quiet sophistication were important selling points. Replaced by the more powerful Wolseley 15/50 in 1956, it remains a charming example of post-war British motoring, representing the final years of Wolseley’s traditional approach to the compact executive saloon.
